GENIUS was the first intelligent, rugged, distributed I/O system for PLC systems. It 

was introduced in 1985 and was the first with extensive diagnostics and easy setup over 

a proprietary network. It quickly gained global acceptance in applications such as car 

manufacturing, mining, water, and steel. Over the years we evolved our I/O offering 

bringing forward many of the GENIUS capabilities and marrying it with the latest 

technology and providing advanced functionality in more cost-efficient form factors. 

We declared GENIUS I/O as Mature status January 1, 2011. In accordance with our 

lifecycle policy, a product moving to Mature status is available for sale and repair of 

products for a minimum of two (2) years. We have been able to extend that period but 

on June 1, 2017, GENIUS I/O and its accessories will be moved to Discontinued status 

due to lack of component availability. At this time, we are offering a Last Time Buy of 

GENIUS I/O and accessories (see list in appendix). All orders must be placed with 

Automation & Controls before March 31, 2017. Orders will be accepted and fulfilled in 

the order they are placed and are subject to the availability of component parts. All 

orders must be shipped by June 1, 2017. 

Due to the difficulty we are now experiencing in getting components, we will be 

increasing the price December 1, 2016. Subsequent to the Last Time Buy, orders for 

Discontinued products will no longer be accepted. We will continue to service the 

Discontinued product, i.e., provide Repair-and-Return or Exchange modules for seven (7) 

years1. This limited service excludes any technical support from the Tech Support Team.
