On November 27, Schneider Electric Wuxi Green Smart Industrial Park officially broke ground in Wuxi High-tech Zone. After completion, the project will become Schneider Electric's new industrial R&D and electronic manufacturing center in China, providing Schneider Electric's Chinese and global customers with high-tech industrial control products and core control components for intelligent energy management.
Wuxi Municipal Party Committee Secretary Du Xiaogang, Wuxi High-tech Zone Party Working Committee Secretary and Xinwu District Party Committee Secretary Cui Rongguo, Schneider Electric Chief Supply Chain Officer Mourad Tamoud, Schneider Electric Senior Vice President and Global Supply Chain China Head Zhang Kaipeng attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
China's industry is facing the "dual transformation" of digitalization and green and low-carbon development. Digital technology and green development are necessary conditions for high-quality development of enterprises. As Schneider Electric's electronic manufacturing center in China, the Wuxi base faces the needs of business expansion, supply chain expansion and increased research and development efforts. With the strong support of the local government, Schneider Electric decided to build a new green smart industrial park, namely Schneider Electric Wuxi Green Smart Industrial Park. The industrial park will be constructed in two phases. The first phase will build a 68,000-square-meter comprehensive park, including a 10,000-square-meter R&D building, which is scheduled to be put into use in 2025.
Wuxi City attaches great importance to the construction of green economy, focuses on the development of advanced manufacturing industry, and adheres to a high level of opening up to the outside world. The local good business environment, rich talent pool, complete upstream and downstream industrial chains and infrastructure construction have laid a solid foundation for Schneider Electric's development in Wuxi. Cui Rongguo, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Wuxi High-tech Zone and Secretary of the Xinwu District Party Committee, highly recognized Schneider Electric’s development and exemplary role in Wuxi. He said: "Advanced manufacturing, represented by intelligent manufacturing, is the 'backbone' of building a modern industrial system and the 'main front' for promoting new industrialization and forming new quality productivity. We sincerely hope to strengthen cooperation with multinational companies such as Schneider Electric. Promote more major projects and high-quality resources to settle in high-tech zones, and jointly reach new heights in the industrial chain and value chain."
Based on the three goals of zero carbon, green, and intelligence, Schneider Electric Wuxi Green Smart Industrial Park will actively introduce cutting-edge digital technologies such as 5G communications and artificial intelligence, and create a comprehensive integrated green sustainable development concept, digital factory, and R&D innovation. Park, comprehensively improve the safe and efficient production and delivery capabilities of the supply chain, increase cooperation with local partners and industry customers, and set a benchmark for China's green intelligent manufacturing and zero-carbon industrial parks.
Zhang Kaipeng, senior vice president of Schneider Electric and head of global supply chain China, said: "The construction of the Schneider Electric Wuxi Green Smart Industrial Park is a major measure for Schneider Electric to accelerate business deployment and continuously expand investment in China. The new industrial park will further broaden the scope of Schneider Electric's The construction of the electrical industry ecosystem is anchored by assisting China's industrial transformation, radiating into the global market, and promoting traditional industries to accelerate the upgrading of high-end, intelligent and green industries. In the future, Schneider Electric will continue to deepen the upgrading of green and intelligent manufacturing, relying on leading technologies With our advantages and rich experience accumulation, we can work with industry customers to achieve efficient and sustainable development."
Schneider Electric's Wuxi base has taken root on the shores of Taihu Lake in 2001. With the strong support of the Wuxi Municipal Government and the Wuxi High-tech Zone Management Committee, it has continued to move forward relying on the concept of localization. For more than 20 years, it has continuously introduced new production lines, expanded investment in R&D, production and business, and created an industrial ecosystem integrating R&D, production, supply, sales and service. It has also been rated as an end-to-end "Lighthouse Factory" by the World Economic Forum. Just in March this year, Schneider Electric's China Automation R&D Center officially landed in Wuxi, becoming Schneider Electric's fifth largest R&D center in China. Now that Schneider Electric Wuxi Green Smart Industrial Park has officially started construction, it is a new footnote for Schneider Electric to continue to expand local investment, accelerate local industrial and economic development, and help the integration of the Yangtze River Delta and even China's industrial development.
Mourad Tamoud, chief supply chain officer of Schneider Electric, said: "China is one of the driving forces for Schneider Electric's continuous development and innovation.
