The protection element also provides a non-sensitive area to avoid instability due to small asymmetries and unbalances that can generally be present in the network system. This condition is represented by the characteristic reproduced below, where the hatched area is the tripping zone.
Peer to Peer Security Configuration
Enter Code Enter an Authentification Secret for Key Negotiation (ASCII string up
to 32 characters). The factory default value is “itsasecret”.

All controllers and Cyberstation workstations that need to

Choosing this option allows you to authenticate Andover Continuum
protocol packets using SHA1.

Select this radio button if you want to authenticate and encrypt
packets. Choosing this option allows you to authenticate and encrypt
Andover Continuum protocol packets using SHA1 for authentication
and 3DES for encryption.
Notes: You must remember which Network Security option you choose for
later use. All Network Controllers and Cyberstation workstations
MUST be configured with the same option in order to communicate
securely.
When you configure the Cyberstation workstation for Network
Security you must import the appropriate IPSec Policy file,
TACAuthenticatePolicy.ipsec for Authentication Only or
TACEncryptAndAuthenticatePolicy.ipsec for Authentication and
Encryption.
